oraNurse Unflavoured Toothpaste 1450ppm - Unflavoured
Formulated for those who have sensory issues with strong flavours, this toothpaste has all the protective ingredients you would expect to find in a toothpaste, but with no foaming agents and no flavouring. This toothpaste is also free from artificial colouring, which may be a bonus to some patients.
What should I look for in a toothpaste?
The first thing to look for in toothpaste is fluoride, the NHS recommends using a toothpaste with at least 1350 parts per million (ppm) fluoride. High fluoride toothpastes are available but are prescription-only, and often only prescribed to those who are at risk of dental Caries (tooth decay). While high fluoride toothpaste may be effective as a toothpaste to help prevent dental caries, it isn’t necessary for daily use and should only be used under a dentist’s supervision.
How much you should seek out toothpaste with other features depends on your needs. If you have sensitive teeth (or dentine hypersensitivity), it might be worth seeking out a toothpaste that is formulated to help sensitivity. If you suffer from sensory, or taste-based issues, then looking for an unflavoured or non-foaming toothpaste should be your priority.
